PLATELET RICH PLASMA
RM1,300 per session (3 + 1 package)
Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP therapy is a procedure utilizing the patient’s own plasma which is used in some aesthetic and orthopaedic conditions. It involves drawing out of the patient’s own blood (similar to taking a blood test), spinning it in a machine to separate the blood cells from the plasma containing a high concentration of platelets and injecting the platelet rich plasma back into the patient. Apart from assisting blood clotting, platelets also release growth factors that assist the human body to repair itself by stimulating cells to regenerate new tissue. Known also as “The Vampire Lift” , PRP can be used for facial rejuvenation to treat fine lines and wrinkles, age related skin discolouration, facial scarring and to restore facial age related volume loss.
There is absolutely no risk of disease transmission or anaphylaxis allergic reaction with PRP because the patient is injected with his or her own tissue. PRP therapy can also be combined with lasers, other soft tissue fillers and botox treatment to enhance the overall result. As PRP therapy depends on the patient regenerating their own new tissues, the result is subtle and gradual improvement is seen from 6-8 weeks after treatment. Patient can expect better results with more treatments. The procedure can be repeated after 1-2 months and results can last up to 18 months. Other indications for using PRP are for the treatment of chronic wounds, some osteo-degenerative bone disease such as osteo-arthritis and for hair restoration.
